Asari headpiece, READY TO MOLD

Okay so, First off I need to post this http://www.tatterhood.com becuase it is where I got the tutorial to do this build.
Built up the neck and sides
Added the back tentacles though I'm still adjusting them constantly because they don't look perfect yet

Added the detailing of the raised skin/tentacle starting from the base of next and side of head. It's looking fantastic

The next phase will be molding, I still haven't decided if I'm going to follow the tutorial she posted and use a fiberglass mold or just Vaseline the entire ensemble and make an alginate mold. That should be set up and ready by next Saturday hopefully

Asari try two

So I messed up, I made 5 tentacles instead of six so I had to scrap the old one and start new

After a quick search I found a wonderful tutorial and learned that Plasticine would be better than self curing clay because it doesn't harden and I can try try again.

I did a rough layering trying to get the ridges and ends

Afterwords I vaselined it smooth in preparation of the second pass of the sculpting tools to get the details right.

Asari First Master

So I'm starting off a wave of cosplay effects, my first attempt at the genre. I need a new hobby that I can learn with to keep my spirits up. I hope to do an Asari, Garrus, a Quarian and possibly a Shepard as well.

So I bought a foam head and some DAS clay and started out
I left all of them up because I can manipulate Latex better on straight lines rather then curves.
The next step is to fill in the cracks and make a silicone mold
But first I have to do the back of the neck

It Begins

So this will be one of the blogs I use for ME my small art outfit for Movies, Props, Cosplay, and Magic. Hopefully as I get more confident I will be able to upload more complex projects, currently I am working on some Mass Effect cosplay's Project one is going to be my first attempts at Sculpting, Molding, Casting, and Latex head pieces so it's going to be a long learning curve.
